Conclusion

I am just writing on the blog to finish it off and state that 'Rimmel' were very pleased with their overall product. Printing the finsihed products went well with no problems and everything was delived to the 'Rimmel' offices on time.

Interview Summary

Today I had a meeting with Rimmel to ensure they were happy with the finished products to go for printing. We were prepared with the concept behind the advert and were confident that our products matched the brief we were given.

The meeing went very well and they seemed to be happy with the products. They thought the A4 poster and the billboard advert were fine but were unsure of the position of the Rimmel logo and slogan in the bus advert, they thought it wasnt big enough. A few sketches were done over the top of the sample and these problems will be sorted in the nest few days before they go to print.

The final thing which was spoke about was the issue of printing and how many copies the comapny wanted exactly. The decided on 100 A4 poster which they could then foward on to others, 20 billboards and 30 buses all of which will be printed from one of my companys contacts for the best price we can get them for.

Second Report of Production

The last week was spent organising the photo shoot and this was done on the 25^th of March. These photos are now all edited and enhanced ready to go onto the adverts. I have now completely finished the first A4 advert and the billboard background is also completed it is just a matter of putting the final images onto the piece now, which I will hopefully complete today.  

When I have finished putting the images onto the billboard today I will move onto the background of the final bus advert of my campaign. As all the images are collected and ready to use this should take too long to edit them together. All three pieces will have to be printed displayed correctly for the interview with the company on the 10^th of April which shouldn’t be a problem to complete these two final pieces between today, Wednesday and Thursday.

I will then have the weekend to finished off any minor editing that will be discussed in the interview and then the printing and form filling will be done at the start of next week to get everything completed for 5o’clock on Tuesday 12^th of April.

It will be quite difficult to get work done in time but not impossible. The massive problem and time consumer which took place was with the images and having to organise a photoshoot but with a new more condense plan we are back on track to get all the work done for the 12^th

First Report Of Production

I have three products to make which are an advert for a magazine, an advert for a billboard and finally an advert for the side of a bus. The plan is to take each of these products and give them even time periods to ensure each has equal amount of time spent on them. The theme that I want to portray is a black and white London with accents of colour in the lips and other features like a telephone box or a bus, things which are seen as London characteristics.

My last post stated that I was going to start to design and make the product and I started with the A4 advert for the magazine as I thought this would be the easiest to start with as the page size is in the software. So far this is going well and I am working with a few picture to get the layout and balance of the advert right. I thought I would have been able to get all my images from the internet but this is working out difficult so I may need to take a few images myself of models as I can't get the right angles and shots I am looking for so this will need to be added into my production schedule.

Once this piece is finished I plan to go onto the billboard and finally the bus advert. I will try to take all the shots I need in one session as this will save time.

With my Post Production schduele almost complete today I am going to start into a Pre-Production scedule and plan when I have to have each section of this advertising campaign complete. This will ensure that I will have the assignment completed on time if I hae deadlines to meet.

On finishing this I will start into the actual design and making of my products. I will report any problems which I have had to overcome with making this project.

My First Post

I am going to create an ungoing diary for the production of my advertising campaign for Rimmel Lipstick. This will include issues such as what I am doing, problems which arise, how I over came them, changes made to my product, things that I have learnt and what I would do different.

Today I am starting Task 5. I have been given the check list and my first job was to create this production blog. I am immensely excited by the thought of creating this diary.

I am also going to spend the rest of this day creating my post production schedule.
